Training to become an iron worker typically involves enrolling in an apprenticeship program offered by one of the local unions, such as Iron Workers Local 84, Local 135 or Local 66 These programs combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction, allowing apprentices to earn a wage while learning the trade.
